In Latvia a pavadzīme (delivery note) and an invoice are two different documents that are often merged into one. The delivery note proves the goods physically moved from one company to another; the invoice is the supporting document for payment. Combined, they form a pavadzīme-rēķins.
Required details
- document name, number and date;
- sender: name, registration number, legal address;
- recipient and, if different, the delivery address;
- goods: description, quantity, unit, price and amount;
- VAT rate, VAT amount and total when the document also serves as an invoice;
- signatures of the person who issued and the person who received the goods.
Signatures are where a delivery note differs from an invoice: an electronically prepared invoice is valid without one, but a paper delivery note has to come back signed by the recipient. Choosing "Delivery note" in the generator adds two signature lines to the PDF.
How to create one
Open the invoice generator, pick Delivery note or Delivery note-invoice under document type, fill in both parties and the goods lines, and download the PDF. A plain delivery note hides the payment details block, since it is not a request for payment.
